Design Brief
As a proud Asian, I did not miss this unique opportunity to decorate an apartment with bold oriental colors for the owner, who is an East Asian herself.
The color scheme in this project consists of vibrant and bright hues: pale green, tan yellow, and a touch of coral pink. The Oriental character of the project is subtly expressed through the Japanese print "Morning Sun" above the chess of drawers, Chinoiserie wallpaper with peach blossom and swallows, and the floral motifs on bedsheets, which are inspired by the famous hand-printed fabrics in Jaipur (the capital of the state of Rajasthan, Northern India). These Oriental details are placed next to Western furniture and décor items: the 1970s coffee table by French designer Pierre Van Del and the 1920s frosted glass pendant. To tie items with different cultural influences together as a harmonious whole, I have specifically chosen all hardware details in copper-gold color :D.
